Paul Ruebsam has been performing for years. At the age of five Paul and his brother would gather their stuffed toys put on plays for his family in London, Ontario. Simple props and Paul’s vivid imagine combined to create delightful plots and stories. His need for a performing opportunity was met in grade school and high school where he performed in numerous plays.

After graduating from the University of Windsor Paul got a full time job at Old Fort William in Thunder Bay, Ontario. It was here that Paul’s entertaining skills were honed and sharpened. As a costumed interpreter he entertained and educated the visiting public for fifteen years. Paul worked in the Education Department at Old Fort William; an invaluable experience that deepened Paul’s natural ability to relate to and entertain and teach children. This experience encouraged Paul to form a storytelling business called Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tales. He performed as a storyteller throughout Northwestern Ontario.

Performing magic was a natural evolution in Paul’s performance repertoire. In 1998 Paul watched a magician perform a 45 minute outdoor show. Paul was immediately hooked on performing magic. Years of intense study and practice resulted in Paul forming Martin Wonderland’s Magic in 2003. Since then Paul, performing as Martin Wonderland, has been entertaining audiences throughout Northwestern Ontario. He has performed for birthday parties, schools, churches, libraries, wedding receptions, Founders Museum, The Thunder Bay Museum, The Thunder Bay KOA, the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition, The Hymers Fall Fair, the Nipigon Blueberry Blast, the Schreiber Heritage Festival, Winnie’s Hometown Festival and many, many more
